Jeff Claflin Elected as Managing Partner
Plews Shadley Racher and Braun LLP (PSRB) is pleased to announce Jeff Claflin has been elected by his partners to serve as Managing Partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2023. Claflin succeeds Greg Gotwald, who will conclude his service in this role at the end of 2022. Gotwald will continue to focus on his work for clients in the areas of insurance-coverage and environmental law.
Jeff Claflin is a 35-year veteran of the firm and has served as managing partner two previous times. In 2008, he moved from Indianapolis to South Bend to manage the firm’s South Bend office. Jeff’s practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage cases, representing policyholders in complex disputes involving multiple cleanup sites and insurers. His practice also includes civil work, including environmental law. This will be the first time the firm, headquartered in Indianapolis, will have a managing partner located in its South Bend office.
On being elected Managing Partner for a third time, Claflin stated: “It was my good fortune to join the firm as a law clerk in 1988, and managing the firm once again, though a significant responsibility, will be both a privilege and a pleasure. The privilege and pleasure come mostly from the kind of people we have attracted and kept over our 35 years together. Moreover, I will not be managing the firm by myself. We have an established and fine team of managers covering specific areas of responsibility, including personnel, finance, maintenance, and marketing. And the managing partner always has the robust support of the partners serving on our Management Committee. We’re big on the team concept at PSRB, and managing the firm is no different. This is why I can manage the larger firm from South Bend—that and having a car that gets very good mpg! I’m very much looking forward to 2023.”
While serving as managing partner, Jeff will continue his work for clients.
The following PSRB partners have been elected to serve on the firm’s Management Committee for 2023: George Plews, Chris Braun, Colin Connor, Jonathan Emenhiser, and Thao Nguyen.
