Chris Braun Elected as Managing Partner at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP
Plews Shadley Racher and Braun LLP (PSRB) is pleased to announce that Chris Braun has been elected by his partners to once again serve as Managing Partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2021. Braun succeeds Amy Romig, who will conclude her service in this role at the end of 2020 and continue to focus on her work in the areas of environmental and natural resource counseling and administrative and environmental litigation. This will be the third time that Mr. Braun, a name partner, has been elected by his partners to serve as the firm’s Managing Partner.
The focus of Mr. Braun’ practice is complex litigation, transactional and administrative matters in the areas of environmental, insurance coverage, business and real estate law. He has also served as General Counsel to the Indiana Food and Fuel Association (IFFA) since 1993.
For two decades Mr. Braun has been consistently selected by various national and state publications as a top lawyer for Environmental Litigation and Environmental Law, including being annually selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Indiana Super Lawyer. For the past three years Mr. Braun has been selected by his peers in Indiana Super Lawyers as one of Indiana’s Top 50 lawyers. For 2019-2020 Mr. Braun was selected “Lawyer of the Year” for Environmental Law in Indiana by Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Braun has been inducted as a Fellow to the American College of Environmental Lawyers, he has also received the Indiana Lawyer’s Distinguished Barrister Award. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Senior Fellow by the Indiana Bar Foundation.
Mr. Braun was a founder and served as Chairman for the creation and construction of (1) St. Maria Goretti Catholic Grade School in Westfield, IN; and (2) Guerin Catholic High School in Noblesville, Indiana, the first new Catholic high school built anywhere in Indiana in more than 30 years. In 2018 Mr. Braun was the recipient of the Bishop William L. Higi Leadership Award for Catholic Leadership.
Mr. Braun served on the Board at Guerin Catholic and Park Tudor for many years and is a past President of the Park Tudor Board of Directors. In 2019 Mr. Braun was elected by the alumni to serve on the Board of Trustees at Wabash College. For the past 20 years Mr. Braun has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at The Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law teaching advanced trial techniques and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on mediation.
Braun says “Given the continuing challenges that the pandemic is imposing on our clients, communities and society as a whole I am looking forward to leading the firm’s efforts to remain nimble and responsive to their needs, to help those who are less fortunate and struggling during this crisis while also embracing the rapid changes to the practice of law, including a post-pandemic continuation of professionals working remotely thereby allowing more work-life balance for our lawyers and staff.
