Sean M. Hirschten practices in a variety of areas including insurance coverage, complex litigation, and business services.  He received his B.A. degree in History from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in 1999, and his M.A. degree in History from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, in 2006.  He received his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2010, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.  While in law school, Sean served as an Associate Editor and later Articles Editor on the Indiana Law Journal and participated in the Environmental Law Society.  He also volunteered for several organizations providing legal services to underserved individuals.  These included the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project, where he assisted low-income individuals in filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and the Inmate Legal Assistance Project, where he assisted prisoners in obtaining a wide variety of legal assistance.  Before law school, Sean worked for five years at the Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site in Asheville, North Carolina, where he conducted research on the life and writings of Thomas Wolfe.
