Christine Plews has been Of Counsel with the firm since its inception in 1988. With a legal background ranging from experience with pro bono immigration cases to serving as in-house counsel for Eli Lilly and Company, Chris brings a valuable perspective to the clients she serves. Chris is also extremely involved in the Indianapolis Community. She is a bass violinist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis and is a member of both the Brebeuf Mothers’ Association and the St. Richard's School Parent Organization. Chris has also been an active Board member of a variety of prominent Indianapolis institutions, including the Indiana State Museum Foundation, Junior League of Indianapolis Endowment and the Indiana Repertory Theater Society, where she also served as Vice President. She has also volunteered for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic and was a member of the vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church for a number of years. Chris earned her A.B. magna cum laude in 1974 from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. She then received a B.A. with honors in politics, philosophy, and economics in 1976 from St. Hugh’s College at Oxford University. Chris earned her J.D. in 1979 from Harvard Law School, where she was the Senior Articles Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights—Civil Liberties Law Review, and returned to Oxford to earn her M.A. in 1981. Chris is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell and is a member of the Indianapolis Bar, Indiana State Bar and American Bar Associations.
