Thao T. Nguyen, a member of the firm’s South Bend office, concentrates her practice in real estate transactions, corporate counseling, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation.  Before joining the firm, Thao clerked for the Honorable Carr L. Darden of the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Honorable Terry A. Crone of the St. Joseph County Circuit Court.  She was an In-Court Translator for the Monroe County Superior Court and a Fellow of the Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity.  The Indiana Lawyer (published by the Indiana Business Journal) named Thao as a 2009 “Up and Coming Lawyer.”  Thao has also been selected as an Indiana Super Lawyers® "Rising Star" for 2010 and 2011. She received her B.A. degree in politics with minors in computer science, art history and women’s studies from Oberlin College in 2001.  She received her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in 2004.  Among other community activities, Thao serves on the Board of Governors of the St. Joseph County Bar Association and is a member of the Pro Bono and Pro Se Committees.  She is also a pro bono attorney for the St. Joseph County Family Justice Center’s Protective Order Project.  Thao is a coach of the John Adams High School (South Bend) Mock Trial program, which won the State and National Championships in 2009.
