Gregory M. Gotwald, Partner Back to Attorney List
   
Gregory M. Gotwald focuses his practice on litigation and appellate work in the areas of insurance coverage law, environmental law, and technical and complex litigation. Greg has extensive experience handling various types of insurance claims, including claims involving commercial general liability (“CGL”), first-party property, product liability, director and officer (“D&O”), errors and omissions (“E&O”), fidelity, crime, and pollution liability policies. He has worked on high stakes cases with hundreds of millions of dollars at issue, as well as small individual cases. He advises corporate clients on potential gaps in their coverage programs. Greg also has experience with broker liability claims as well. 

Additionally, Greg has litigated numerous environmental cases, involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (“CERCLA”), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (“RCRA”), the National Environmental Policy Act (“NEPA”), Indiana’s Environmental Liability Act (“ELA”), and other statutory and common-law claims. He also has litigated various other complex matters involving construction defects, breach of contract, and other business-related matters.

Greg has served on the firm's management committee. Greg has been named a “Rising Star” from 2010 through 2016 by Indiana Super Lawyers and an “Up and Coming Lawyer” in 2009 by the Indiana Lawyer (published by the Indianapolis Business Journal). In 2012, Junior Achievement of Central Indiana awarded Greg its "Indy's Best and Brightest" for law. In 2009, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recognized Greg as a Distinguished Young Alumni and appointed him to its Board of Trustees.  Greg received his Chemical Engineering degree from Rose-Hulman in 2001 with minors in environmental engineering and economics.  He obtained his J.D., cum laude, from the Vermont Law School in 2004. Among other community activities, Greg is the President of the Board of Directors of Child Advocates, Inc and has served as a volunteer.
