Overview

Jeff Claflin is a 35-year veteran of the firm, becoming a law clerk in 1988, an associate in 1990, and a partner in 1996. He worked in the Indianapolis office through 2008, twice serving as the managing partner, until moving to manage the firm’s one satellite office in South Bend, Indiana.  Though still in South Bend, Jeff was elected by his partners again in 2023 to manage the entire firm, including the firm’s home offices in Indianapolis.   Jeff’s practice initially focused on environmental law, having come to the firm from the Office of Policy and Regulatory Analysis at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Since the early ‘90s, Jeff has worked primarily on insurance coverage cases, representing policyholders in complex disputes involving multiple cleanup sites and insurers, as well as non-environmental matters. He has represented several policyholders, large and small, in various coverage actions, including: Eli Lilly & Company, Vectren, Raybestos, the City of Angola, Guidant Corp., PSI Energy, the City of Warsaw, Standard Fusee Corporation, CenterPoint Energy and Hoosier Energy.   By published decisions or by settlement, in cases where Jeff has either managed or assisted, hundreds of millions of dollars have been recovered for PSRB clients.
