Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP is pleased to announce that Jonathan Emenhiser and Thao Nguyen have been promoted to partner effective January 1, 2012. 

Emenhiser joined the firm in 2005 as an associate. He currently practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, commercial disputes, product liability, insurance coverage and environmental litigation. Emenhiser regularly handles complex litigation matters, as co-counsel and as local counsel, with national counsel across the U.S. Emenhiser has been recognized by his peers as a leader in insurance coverage, and was named an Indiana Super Lawyers® "Rising Star" for 2009 and 2011 for Insurance Coverage.  

He began his legal career in 2000 as an associate at another Indianapolis law firm after receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington. Emenhiser is a 1997 graduate of Manchester College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Emenhiser is a member of numerous legal organizations, including the American Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association and Boone County Bar Association and is a member of numerous sections within those associations.

Thao Nguyen is located in the firm’s South Bend office and concentrates her practice in real estate transactions, corporate counseling, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. The Indiana Lawyer named Nguyen as a 2009 “Up and Coming Lawyer.” She also was selected as an Indiana Super Lawyers® "Rising Star" for 2010 and 2011.

Before joining the firm in 2004, Nguyen clerked for the Honorable Carr L. Darden of the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Honorable Terry A. Crone of the St. Joseph County Circuit Court. Nguyen received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College in 2001, with a major in politics and minors in art history, computer science, and women’s studies. Nguyen is a leader in giving back to her community and serves on a variety of committees, including the Board of Governors of the St. Joseph County Bar Association and the Pro Bono and Pro Se Committees.  She also serves on the Indiana Pro Bono Commission as an appointee of the Indiana Supreme Court.
