Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP took home first place in the 2011 Indy Reads Spelling Bee, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel October 20, 2011. Indy Reads is a non-profit organization working to improve the literacy skills of adults in Central Indiana who read or write at or below the sixth grade level. The PSRB team of attorneys F. Ronalds Walker, Theresa M. Willard, Colin E. Connor, and Sean M. Hirschten outscored 32 other teams to win the competition, successfully spelling words like “terpsichorean,” “copacetic,” and “synchronicity.” The winning word was “nescience.” A second PSRB team of Todd G. Relue, Shelley M. Jackson, Elizabeth Strain, and Deb Fennessy also placed in the top five. Ms. Strain is a member of the Indy Reads Resource Development Committee.
